The special is hosted by Lucy Lawless, who of course starred in Xena: Warrior Princess. Legend of the Seeker sees Lawless’ Xena producers, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, return to the syndicated fantasy arena, having had tremendous success there with Xena and Hercules.

Xena’s Rob Tapert and Spider-man’s Sam Raimi team up with Starz in a 13-episode original serial based on Spartacus, a real-life slave in the Roman Republic.

Nearly a year ago, there was a Xena convention in Chicago, Il. Lucy, Renee, Adrienne, Steve, Ted and Joseph Lo Duca appeared on stage at the Wyndham O’Hare Airport on Oct. 6 and 7. The two-day event was held in conjunction with another Creation convention held the same weekend. In addition to the convention, Lucy also did two concerts at Buddy Guy’s Legends in downtown Chicago.

The hour-long series airs Nov. 1, but Lucy Lawless will host a special preview show, “The Making of the Legend,” Oct. 18 that will include the first 10 minutes of the premiere. You can check the show’s Web site to find out when and where it’s airing locally. The preview takes viewers to the show’s home in New Zealand to meet the stars of the fantasy series. Exec producers, Sam Raimi and and Rob Tapert, the team behind “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” also will be interviewed.
